TAINTED has changed their name to Sons of One!
Why? Because the TAINTED name never really fit the band or their
music. The band chose to invest in a name that better represents
the underlying themes in the their music: Unity and will power. So,
behold Sons of One! Same guys, same heavy, honest rock filled with
energy and passion.
Formed as TAINTED in December 2004, Sons of One is a meat and potatoes heavy modern rock band out of
middle America. The band released an EP in the spring of 2006 entitled "Bridging the Gap" and will soon
release a full-length album with artist/producer Brett Hestla [Dark New Day, Creed]. The album was recorded
during the spring and summer of 2008 and is currently being mixed.
Tim Boknecht
Vocals / Guitar
The band's
frontman and
principal
songwriter, Tim
Boknecht has
been obsessed
with music since
age 8, when he
begged his
parents for piano
lessons. In fact,
his structured
musical training
includes a number
of instruments and
majoring in
composition &
theory in college.
His formal training
is balanced by the
fact he taught
himself to play his
favorite
instrument, the
guitar.
In his spare time
Tim enjoys
recording,
blogging about
current events,
and reading about
human spirituality.
In other words, the
stuff that feeds
TAINTED's songs.
Jonny K
Drums
The solid
backbone of
TAINTED's music,
Jonny K brings the
creative flare the
band's music
requires. He's an
all-around rocker
whose influences
hail from the full
spectrum of the
genre.
His other interests
include taking
flying lessons. In
fact, when he's not
playing drums
you'll often find
him jamming to
tunes and playing
flight simulator
video games.
Sheldon Wallis
Guitar
In late 2008,
Sheldon replaced
founding guitarist
Moe Girard. He's
a wild man on the
ax and brings a lot
of energy to the
stage show.
That's not all he
brings to the
stage: He's
mechanically
inclined and builds
set pieces to
enhance the
production.
Sheldon's a bit of
a gear head who
likes to work on
cars and
motorcycles when
he's not playing
guitar.
Kevin Harman
Bass
Hailing from
Saskatchewan,
this former
Canadian Air
Force engineer
has a love affair
with the bass
guitar. Not
content to just lay
down the root note
of a chord, you'll
hear his fingers
wandering all
through
TAINTED's songs.
Kevin has a
degree in
Electrical
Engineering, and
he's not afraid to
use it! He's the
man with the plan
when it comes to
hooking up gear
for playing live or
recording.
Fans may be
surprised to learn
that aside from
putting the BASS
in BadASS, he's
also a jet pilot who
flies almost every
day!
